THE iNDiE SHOW RULES 1. ENTRY PROCEDURE: Members of The Indie Show website are eligible to signup for the reality show competition. Artists wishing to audition for the live event need only read and agree to the rules section of the show, and fill out a submission form. The submission form is available within the artist's control panel. 2. REGISTRATION FEE: There is no registration fee. 3. PRIZES: The artist with the over-all high score throughout all levels of competition beginning from audition rounds up through the television event, will receive a minimum prize of a recording contract (or $5000) and a one year video promotion agreement (expires one year from date of winning). The Indie Show itself, is designed to create a great deal of exposure for entrepreneurial artists on a global scale. It is the goal of the Indie Show to provide the artists with the talent to succeed, an opportunity to make connections that will help further their careers. Some artists in the competition will recieve opportunities from music festivals, promoters, agents, and talent scouts. Other prizes will be announced. 4. ORIGINAL MATERIAL: All music must be the property of the band performing. If not, the band must have written permission by the owner of the copyright of the music authorizing it's use. (see terms and conditions for complete details) 5. CONTEST SUBMISSIONS: Submissions will be in the form of video and audio. Artists may enter up to 2 songs in audio and or 1 music video in the competition.Once a media format or genre is chosen, that is the format and genre that the artist must compete in. No changes are permitted. Artists receiving high rankings during the competition will be contacted by the Indie Show staff. A request will be made at that time, for a high quality photo and bio. If the artist is competing in video format, a high quality version of their video must be mailed (overnight) to the Indie Show address provided. A DVD or DV tape will be excepted. Each week the Indie Show will broadcast in full screen, high quality; a "Top Ten" countdown television show featuring the top music videos for the week. Due to time restrictions of broadcasts, artists failing to provide their video as requested, will forfeit their position in the countdown for that week and be replaced by the next runner up. Artists wishing to mail their videos prior to contact, may request an address from the webmaster. 6. GENRES: Genres are as follows: Alternative/Rock, Country/Blue Grass, and R&B/Pop/Hip Hop. Other genres should enter the genre category that is similar to their style. 7. AUDITION ROUNDS: The first round of competition (audition round) will begin April 04, 2013. Self-Promotion is the key to success during the competition. Advancement will be based on the following factors: a. Artist ranking; Determined by the voting of visitors to the Indie Show website. b. The Star Power of each artist. Star Power statistics are aquired by our unique software that continuously scans the internet searching for information surrounding each artist; including views, links, traffic, band reviews, ect. (see the section for tips on how to increase Star Power rankings) c. The number of music video views or song plays an artist receives
on the Indie Show website. 8. WEEKLY TELEVISION BROADCASTS: Each week the Indie Show will air a "Top Ten" video countdown in Full Screen, High Definition quality, from it's broadcast platform (accessed by clicking the "TV" button at the top of the home page). 9.WEEKLY AUDIO PICKS: The artists in the Audio submission category that receive the highest scores during each week of the audition rounds, will be announced on the weekly "Top Ten" video countdown show (accessed by clicking the "TV" button at the top of the home page). 24 audio entrants from April 4, 2013 through August 5, 2013 will advance to the Indie Show Finals. 10. WEEKLY VIDEO PICKS: The artists in the Video submission category that receive the highest scores during each week of the audition rounds, will be contacted by the Indie Show staff. A high quality video (at least DVD quality), photo and bio will be requested. The "Top Ten" videos with the highest score for the week, will be posted on the Indie Show's broadcast platform (accessed by clicking the "TV" button at the top of the home page).Videos will be rated by the number of views they receive on the platform for the next 7 days. The following week, the videos will be featured in that week's "Top Ten" broadcast. The artist with the Number One video for the week will advance to the Indie Show finals. 24 video entrants from April 4, 2013 through August 5, 2013 will advance to the Indie Show Finals. 11. THE INDIE SHOW FINAL ROUNDS: 24 Video finalists and 24 Audio finalists will be posted on the website. Artists in the Finalist Rounds of the Indie Show will compete for the chance to appear on the Indie Show Television Event. Nine (9) Video Finalists and Three (3) Audio Finalists will advance
to the television event. 12. THE INDIE SHOW TELEVISION EVENT: The Indie Show television event will be filmed and broadcast from Las Vegas, Nevada. Artists that have qualified for the event will receive food, lodging, and a travel allowance during filming. Finalists will receive information on the structure and rules of the television event prior to filming. Each contestant will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement prohibiting the release of any information pertaining to the show prior to it's final broadcast date. Grand Prizes will be awarded on the final broadcast. 13. JUDGING: Members and visitors to the "Indie Show" website page will vote for their favorite band or artists during each round of the competition.Voting will be on a scale of 0-5. With 5 being the highest score. Additional scoring will be given for points earned by artists for the number of audio or video views they receive each week and for points earned by each artist's "Star Power" rating. Rankings for artist during each week of competition will only reflect artist votes and song and video plays. Star Power ratings will remain confidential and will be calculated into the rankings at the end of each week. It is important in todays market, that artists have true entrepreneurial skills. Artists with great ambition and good marketing skills will score high in the Star Power ratings. Each week, one audio finalist and one video finalist will be advanced to the final rounds of the competition. Website rankings will be reset at the beginning of each new week. In the event of a tie the "Indie Show" and IRN staff will make the final decision. Judging rules for the Indie Show television event will be announced during the show's broadcasts. 14. DISPUTES: The Independent Radio Network (IRN), the Indie Show, and the Indie Road Show are authorized to resolve all disputes of the competition. IRN, the Indie Show, and the Indie Road Show, are the sole authority in resolving all disputes and to disqualify any contestant at any level of the contest for failure to comply with the rules and regulations, including errors and omissions. IRN, the Indie Show, and the Indie Road show's decisions are final. 15. PERFORMANCES: a. Each act entered in any level of competition must perform only with the personnel listed on the Entry Form. No personnel changes or substitutions will be permitted once competition has begun. Once an individual withdraws from an act at any level of the competition, he/she cannot perform at the next level. b. In the event of a withdrawal, a runner up act will be chosen. c. The Indie Show televised event will require that each act must perform live, vocally and/or instrumentally. Solo artists may use sound tracks and artists that require some pre-programming, may do so where it is deemed necessary for production purposes. d. The Indie Show does not encourage explicit content or profanity. However, an artist's right to freedom of expression is supported as long as it's use is expressed responsibly. The Indie Show retains the right to remove any content we believe is inappropriate. During the Indie Show televised event, all performances must be done in good taste: no music or lyrics that sponsors, IRN, or the Indie Show considers to be offensive may be performed. e. Any contestant (either individual or member of group) who claims to be using their own music may be disqualified at the discretion of the Indie Show, if a musical copyright for the music exists which does not name the contestant as author or co-author unless the contestant has the written permission of the copyright owner. f. Acceptable documentation to prove ownership of a contestants music shall include either a certificate of copyright, proof of song registration with BMI, ASCAP, ect., or a notarized copy of the application applying for the copyright with a signed statement by the contestant as to it's status. 16. PROMOTIONAL AUTHORIZATION: I/we hereby give all clearance, copyright or otherwise, for the use of my name, likeness, image, voice, appearance embodied in my/our performance/state presentation. I grant the rights hereunder whether or not I am selected to participate in any future event in any manner whatsoever. I agree to release, defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Indie Show, IRN, the Indie Road Show, any producer, sponsors of any events and all media and production companies affiliated with or associated with the production, promotion and/or broadcast of any event, and the respective parents, subsidiary entities, affiliates, licensees, successors and assigns, and the respective directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, partners, shareholders, representatives and members of each of the foregoing entities (“Releasees”), and each of them, from and against any claims, actions, lawsuits, liabilities, losses and expenses arising out of or relating to its recording or use of my Likeness and/or Materials. I agree not to make any claim against Releasees as a result of the recording or use of my Likeness and/or Materials (including, without limitation, any claim that such use invades any right of privacy and/or publicity). I have not and will not enter into any commercial or other sponsorship agreement or arrangement with any person, firm or company with respect to my possible or actual appearance in any event, without the Indie Show’s written approval. Anytime I may -- or actually do -- appear on camera, I will not wear any article of clothing bearing a designer name, sports logo or other logo, or bearing the name or likeness of a celebrity, living or dead. I will be available to participate, for no additional consideration, as, when and where the Indie Show and/or network affiliates may require in connection with publicity, interviews and similar matters (for example, to appear on news shows, talk shows and other programs), and to make other appearances as required by the Indie Show and/or network affiliate in connection with the Indie Show and/or in connection with other programs, and/or sponsors, when and where designated by the Indie Show and/or network affiliate in its/their discretion as long as such requests are within reason. I understand requests will not be made that would interfere with my daily life (ie job, family, ect.). If under 18 years of age, parent or guardian must sign an entry form. 17 . ASSUMPTION OF RISK: By submitting this entry form, the act (and each individual member thereof) assumes all risks of property damage or bodily injury (including death) that might occur during the live competition. The act (and each individual member thereof) agrees not to bring against IRN, The Indie Show, The Indie Road Show, it’s producers, or any of it's sponsors, any claim for property damage or bodily injury (including death) that might occur during any event. 18. GOOD CHARACTER: The act agrees that it may be disqualified immediately from any level of the competition if the act (or any member thereof) commits any act or becomes involved in any situation that would adversely reflect on IRN, The Indie Show, The Indie Road Show, it’s producers, it’s sponsors, or any party furnishing a prize, or tend to bring it into public disrepute. 19. ELIGIBILITY: b. If you are a minor or a member of your band is a minor, you or the minor band member must be eligible to obtain a permit to work in the entertainment industry should you or your band advance to the Indie Show television event. c. If you or your band advances to the Indie Show television competition, each member must be able to demonstrate that he/she does not have (either alone or as a member of a group) a contract for talent representation (for example, a talent agent or manager), a music recording contract, a merchandising agreement, or any other contractual arrangement that would prohibit you, or any member of your band, from entering into a recording contract, talent contract and/or merchandising contract should you win. If there is a contract in place that would prohibit such agreements, then the artist agrees to accept a cash prize in the amount of $5,000 instead. The representatives of artists(talent agent or manager) winning the television event (that choose a contract instead of a cash prize) will remain the representatives of that artist and be entitled to any normal fees due as per their contract with the artist. Should a recording contract be chosen as the prize, the record label of the artist winning the television event will be offered a co-distribution deal (in addition to a one year video promotion agreement). The winning artist will be entitled to a one year video promotion agreement regardless of their choice of prizes. d. I am/we are not an owner, controlling stockholder or employee of and I am/we are not related by birth or marriage, nor do I/we live in the same household as any judge for the final events, any radio station sponsoring the event, any sponsor (or any national sponsor), IRN, or parent company, The Indie Show, The Indie Road Show or any employee, controlling stockholder, owner, officer or agent of any of the foregoing parties. THE INDIE SHOW RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ADD, CHANGE, MODIFY OR DELETE ANY OF THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS, AS WELL AS TO ADD ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS NOT LISTED HERE, AT ANY TIME IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION. THE INDIE SHOW ALSO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MODIFY THE MANNER IN WHICH IT PRODUCES THE SHOW.
