ARTIST HISTORY
WhiteShoeBrownShoe is the sonic child of two songwriters brought together by rock, roll, and bowel of chilli. Mr. Patrik Gochez, an East Coast Legend, and Sir Alex Britten of West Coast Distinction are the fitted shoes with the soles to walk us through this modern life. One day, a Wednesday, they realized that if they wanted to open the minds of the masses, they’d better open theirs first. Steady sticks were essential, and as the lights flickered, a pirate from the heart of America busted down the door and kicked a beat so sweet it rocked the shoes to their feet. Nasty Nez was his name, and runnin’ groove was his game, now all they needed was Dynamite Dave to campaign the bass train. He stepped in and laced the shoes up tight, and with that they became a unit of Dopeness.
In response to our CD release party with Heavy Rotation Records, the WEEKLY DIG had this to say:
"Indie entrants White Shoe Brown Shoe are the most poised to follow the Apollo Sunshine/Click Five path to success (two bands previously featured on Dorm Sessions)."
REVOLT Media had this review of our contribution to Heavy Rotation Records 6:
"White Shoe Brown Shoe’s “Off to the Races” is one of the best tracks to come out of Dorm Sessions Volume 6. The song calls to mind Pavement at their most upbeat, and The Velvet Underground at their least pretentious - the song is practically a modern indie classic"
The band has been playing extensively around Boston, whilst reaching into parts of Connecticut, New Hampshire and New York City. We’re coming into Hartford CT to play at Up Or On The Rocks on Thursday August 20th, and if you can’t catch that gig we’re playing the Plainville Charity Auto Show in Plainville on Saturday 22nd. Playing with us are some faithful brothers in the Dopeness family, our good friends Fran P and Skip, sweet MC’s 2, the freshest taste since mountain dew.
So come on down, and if you want a free sample you can find us online at
