| He was born on january 13, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Born To Roy and Monique Sauve. Steve always had an ear for music and started at an early stage singing. He starred in many plays in his school years and developed his own play for his elementary school at a young age of 8. He wrote and directed the play himself 'Elvis Presley' this would be the first of his to be a success. This play became a project for his class and with the popularity of it from his classmates and teachers it was done for the school and others. Although Steve did not do any of the singing and only followed Elvis' voice on record, it still was not stopping him from having his dream come true at a young age. He would be in many plays such as the 'three kings' and others over time. His first recording, non release song was 'Heartache Tonight' of which was recorded during Christmas 1986, previous year his godfather/grandfather Dolor Lafontaine of whom he was very close with past away from cancer (1985). Steves' dream was to go into music and the entertainment industry, but had interest in joining the army or police academy as well. Although he did join the artillary cadets in 1982/1984 and made his grandfather very proud of his accomplishments before his passing. He could have continued with the army, but it was something he decided to not continue with. Steve never released the song officially 'Heartache Tonight' because he felt that it was not his best work and just something he wanted to try. He played in many radio plays like 'Summertime Joe' to name a few of them. Some of the recordings are floating around via bootleg, but never officially released as the radio station went under after its' 40 years of entertainment. KRTM & CFGO Radio closed their doors sometime in the late 80s', making any and all recordings hard to find. 1987 would be the year where Steve would start up a band for recording and tour. It would take some time before he would find the right members to get it right. Erik, John would be the foundation of the band, small, but everything he needed. The first recording and release would be 'Strangers' and that would be a local success for the band, also would be his first release self written song as well. Steve would change his name to a stage name and use it for many years. Steve Richards would be the name and several singles, followed by several l.ps' would be released with success. While recording with Ambience Recording Studios' he would meet his promoter Janet Crane of which she would help in promoting the band. He did join various labels eventually for release of material from different years, after his contract with Ambience expired. In the meantime he would make many movies, star in a television series and continue to do radio plays or weekly radio series as some would call them. He never left the spotlight in the industry, but recording music would not be their for many years. He would record music with several new members singles to be exact, but not albums. In 2004 Steve came back strong with the release 'Something' with the label Diamond Media Recordings and his comeback was once again on top. He reunited the band & the recording sounds so good that it seems that he & the band never really left. With the success of this recording 'The Sky is the limit' e.p was released in early 2005 and had wonderful reviews and sold fairly well. His new album Right To Be Left Behind is getting great views from various radio stations and fans. |
