ARTIST HISTORY
Sara now 17 was very young when she started singing around the house and for family and friends. She loved being an entertainer and would sing every chance she had. Many would say her voice didn’t sound like it came from her little body. At age 6, she started taking violin lessons, which has grown into the fiddle. The fiddle gave her an opportunity to play with a wonderful group of musicians. With 11 years behind her, full parental support and prayers she has become a great entertainer and loves to travel across North Carolina playing with her band “Dew Point Rising” and sharing her renditions of her favorite songs. At age 13 she recorded her first CD titled “Baby Girl”, age 15 a CD titled “Play It Again”, and has completed her 3rd """"Dew Point Rising"""". When she first left the recording studio she decided that when she graduates she wants to pursue a degree in the music industry.
At age 16 Sara decided to make her first competition attempt at the Colgate Country Showdown. She won the radio station round and went on to compete for the NC&SC Title and was so excited when she won. This was a great learning experience for her and the talent there was awesome. She traveled to Nashville, TN and competed at the Wild Horse Saloon for the regional round. Although she did not win, she made great contacts and met great musicians.
She has had the opportunity to sing at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN and is looking forward to going back.
Sara opened at the NC State Fair for Josh Turner, Heidi Newfield, Lady Atebellum and will open the 2009 fair for Jason Michael Carroll.
In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her friends, going to the beach, being a part of the Edgecombe County 4-H, swims for the local swim team and coaches little swimmers. She is a member of the Debu-ette Society. She also works as a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s unit at the Albemarle Retirement Center in Tarboro.
