Carrie Solomon

ARTIST HISTORY
Carrie Solomon plays in a new band called Last Crush. Get ready for the fiery rock/pop explosion hitting Austin live music venues soon. Friend them on their myspace: myspace.com/lastcrush! As a solo artist, Carrie has performed at local Austin venues such as Antone's, Waterloo IceHouse, Red Eyed Fly, Redrum, Mozart's, Babes', Old Alligator Grill, Rutamaya, The Rockin Tomato, and Austin Java. Her most recent accomplishment--other than putting together a 4-piece band called Last Crush--is the completion of her mini-EP, a 3-song, full-band demo. Carrie's lyrics have been called biting and flowery, her songs, catchy and inspiring.
A singer and songwriter since the age of 5, Carrie Solomon is now also a guitarist and recording artist.

She has crafted her own unique style by combining rock, pop, ska, and occasionally folk, country and jazz. The music is dynamic, catchy, guitar-driven rock/pop with loads of passion and heartfelt emotion.

Carrie's influences include No Doubt, Thrice, Reel Big Fish, and Michelle Branch, among others.

She received publication in a national poetry-writing contest when she was 17, and, more recently, was chosen as a "Suggested Artist" in the August 2005 Song of the Year Song & Lyric Competition, which is affiliated with VH1. Even more recently, Carrie's songs "Worth the Wait" and "It's Me" were placed on "standby" in the 2005 Billboard Song Contest. "It's Me" also made it to the second round of The Indie Show 2005 competition.

No further performance plans as a solo artist are in the works. However, Carrie's band, Last Crush, will be hitting the Austin music scene this Spring.
